Founder & Master Teacher
Bonjour, I'm Héloïse
A classroom, a stage, and a salon — all at once.
She holds a Bachelor of Education from UQAM (WES-evaluated, U.S. equivalent) and brings 25 years of experience across public and private Christian school settings, teaching from early childhood through adulthood — including co-authoring Québec's Ethics & Religious Culture curriculum. She is completing Florida K-12 certification in 2026. She founded The French Academy to bring that same academic rigor to families in Sarasota.
“I bring 25 years in the classroom — Montreal public schools, secondary level. Specialist in Ethics and Character Development.”
My story
Héloïse Landry brings 25 years of classroom experience to The French Academy — not as a native speaker offering casual conversation, but as a credentialed educator who co-authored provincial curriculum policy. Her career spans both public and private Christian school settings, teaching learners from early childhood through adulthood. She holds a Bachelor of Education from UQAM, WES-evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree, and certified teaching credentials from Québec's Ministry of Education. She is also legally qualified to teach dramatic arts, and holds a 2018 certification in Philosophical Inquiry Communities for Children (SÈVE Canada). She is completing Florida K-12 teacher certification in 2026. Over more than two decades, she taught French Language Arts, Ethics & Religious Culture, and Dramatic Arts — including helping write the very Ethics & Religious Culture framework later adopted across the province. Her approach blends rigorous language pedagogy with character formation and performance training, coaching over twenty students each semester in voice, diction, and stage presence.
The result is a program built on the same academic standards as a full accredited school — brought to families who want more than an à-la-carte tutor.
Mission & Vision
Mission
We share French as a living language and a true art of living. Our mission is to grow, in both children and adults, real command of the language, confidence in oneself, and a sense of elegance — through authentic teaching led by a francophone educator devoted to her craft.
Vision
To build, in Sarasota and beyond, a true home for French culture: a place where you learn the language, cultivate character, and celebrate the French way of life — from the classroom all the way to the salons of a château in France.

Our Values
Excellence
Every student deserves rigorous, inspiring teaching.
Authenticity
French is best passed on by a native francophone who has lived it — not by an imported formula.
Art of Living
Learning a language means embracing its culture, its refinement, and its elegance in everyday life.
My promise is simple: I'm here to help you love French — and feel at home in it.
Discover the CommunityAmerica needs a new model for cultural enrichment. We are proving that model works — right here, right now.
